The TruMerit DAISY Award for Outstanding International Nurse Recruiter is open to individual nurses actively engaged, either directly or indirectly, in international nurse recruitment efforts. With a focus on “nurses helping nurses,” the award honors those who have made an extraordinary impact on the lives of nurse migrants through their compassion, empathy, and embodying the principles of the recruitment code from TruMerit’s Alliance for Ethical International Recruitment Practices.

Kelly Mitchell, MSc, RN

Kelly Mitchell, MSc, RN, is a senior nursing leader and is currently the Practice Development Matron for Acute Speciality Medicine at Kings College Hospital, NHS Foundation Trust, London UK. With more than a decade of experience in clinical practice, education, and workforce development, she specialises in strategic planning, inclusive education, and digital innovation to strengthen staff capability and retention. Kelly leads the education, recruitment, and retention strategy for over 550 staff and has developed accredited CPD modules and internationally recognised programmes for internationally educated nurses. She is passionate about equity, staff wellbeing, and professional growth, and is known for delivering transformational change through collaborative leadership. Kelly has completed a Masters in Nursing and is currently pursuing her second Masters in Education. Kelly also serves as an Honorary Lecturer at Kingston University.

Jocelyn Musni, RN

Musni, who was born in the Philippines and received her nursing education in the U.S., is noted for her dedication to shaping a fair and supportive pathway for foreign-educated nurses that enables them to thrive in the workplace. She has been credited for using her personal experience with migration to ensure nurses feel valued, prepared, and supported in their transition to the U.S.

Ijeoma Enweana, CNP, RN, CVRN
Administrative Nursing Supervisor,
Atrium Health
Enweana, with more than 15 years of nursing experience and a doctorate of nursing practice (DNP), is known for her leadership in nursing operations, staff mentorship, and nursing education, particularly in developing innovative training programs for international nurses within her organization and at staffing companies.

Carbery, herself an immigrant nurse from Ireland, has helped thousands of other migrating nurses over her nearly three decades in international recruitment. She is noted for her commitment to ethical recruitment practices and her compassion for migrating nurses and their families during their journey.

Christy Craft, BSN, RN, CMSRN
Quality Improvement Nurse Manager,
Health Carousel
Craft leads a team whose effort resulted in more than 500 nurse assignment placements in 2023 alone. Under her guidance, the team also runs transition-to-practice and clinical residency programs that prepare migrating nurses for their duties as RNs in the U.S.
