Credentials Evaluation

As part of the ANCC certification process, TruMerit provides credentials evaluation services for internationally educated nurses, based on ANCC requirements.

There are two evaluation pathways, depending on certification type and licensure status: Professional License Validation, and Education and License Credentials Evaluation.

Professional License Validation

Fee: $195 USD

TruMerit evaluates professional nursing licenses for international nurses seeking the following ANCC specialty certifications:

  • Ambulatory Care Nursing
  • Cardiac Vascular Nursing
  • Gerontological Nursing
  • Medical Surgical Nursing
  • Nursing Care Management
  • Pain Management Nursing
  • Pediatric Nursing
  • Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing

Who should apply through TruMerit?

Applicants without an active U.S. nursing license.

Who should apply directly to ANCC?

If you are currently licensed in the U.S.

Education and License Credentials Evaluation

Fee: $400 USD

TruMerit evaluates both education and professional licensure for internationally educated nurses seeking the following ANCC specialty certifications:

  • Informatics Nursing
  • Nurse Executive
  • Nurse Executive, Advanced
  • Nursing Professional Development

Who should apply through TruMerit?

Applicants whose degrees were earned outside the United States.

Who should apply directly to ANCC?

If your degrees are from U.S. institutions only.

What to expect

Complete online application

On the application form, select ANCC as recipient and the evaluation type (CENP or CNML).

Submit forms to authorities

When you purchase the CES-ANCC, you will have access to forms to send to schools and licensing authorities for their completion.

Documents sent to TruMerit

Schools and Authorities send documents to TruMerit for evaluation.

Report sent to ANCC

TruMerit reviews your documents, determines if you meet ANCC’s standards, and sends a determination report to ANCC.
