The power of TruMerit + Credivera
TruMerit is developing the use of digital identities, verified credentials, and digital wallets in partnership with Credivera. The goal is to increase the security, integrity, portability, and custody of identity- and credentials-related data. We believe that partnering with Credivera to build a global network of entities that rely on self-custodied digital identities and verified credentials for healthcare workers will streamline the ability for those workers to present secure credentials to regulators, employers, recruiters, and other relevant stakeholders across careers.
How it works:
- TruMerit issues certification credentials in a secure digital format.
- Credivera provides encrypted, real-time verification technology.
- The healthcare worker controls when and with whom their credentials can be shared.
- The healthcare worker can amplify and market their earned credentials by sharing their digital badge to job posting sites and through other digital communications.
- Employers and regulatory bodies can instantly confirm authenticity through user-approved access to digital wallet content.
This model aligns with global best practices in digital credentialing and identity verification.
Benefits for TruMerit applicants
When you earn a TruMerit global certification, you will receive:
- Your official credential (digital certificate and exam report).
- Notification of your verifiable digital credential with ability to claim and use through access to the Credivera Exchange platform.
- Secure sharing capabilities.
- Permanent, trusted documentation of your achievement.
Which TruMerit programs include verifiable digital credentials?
Currently, TruMerit issues verifiable digital credentials for all applicants who successfully pass a global certification exam (Certified Global Nurse, Certified Global Nurse – Rehab, Certified Global Health Worker – Rehab, and Certified Global Health Worker – Rehab Advanced). Future planned integration of digital credentials with our migration support services (VisaScreen and Credentials Evaluation Services) will enable our applicants to benefit from a unified, secure digital credential portfolio.
Whether a nurse or other healthcare worker needs to present verified credentials for academic admission, employment, career advancement/promotion, or migration to work in another country, the process for validating those credentials has historically been slow, complex, and paper-based. Digital verifiable credentials streamline this process in a secure, reliable manner to accelerate downstream opportunity decisions and to enhance career achievement visibility.
TruMerit is proud to partner with industry-leading solutions provider Credivera to issue verifiable digital credentials for healthcare professionals worldwide who seek services for career mobility through TruMerit.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
The digital credential is a representation of your earned credential, providing a secure and convenient way to store and manage your professional achievements. Your global certification credentials will be issued directly to your Credivera wallet as verified digital documents, similar to how Google Pay or Apple Pay stores payment information.
Yes. Your employer, regulator, school, or other relevant third party can use this technology to verify the validity and expiration status of your credential. Because you hold your wallet, you decide with whom and when to share your verified credential.
You may provide a QR code linked to your verified credential directly from your TruMerit digital wallet via the Credivera Exchange, or you may provide a unique URL that is also associated with your digital credential or wallet.
No. Your digital credential is a digital representation of your TruMerit-issued credential. TruMerit will still oversee your application, eligibility, and exam process and issue your exam report, certificate, and digital credential. Once issued, you will be able to register on the Credivera exchange platform to access your digital wallet and start using and sharing your digital credentials.
TruMerit no longer issues paper certificates for any of our programs. But you will receive a digital (PDF) version of your certificate, an electronic notification of your score report, along with notification of your digital credential with instructions for access and use.
Yes. The digital wallet can be accessed by signing into the portal using your browser on your phone or other digital device.
A verified credential in a digital wallet is a record not only that you earned the credential but of the eligibility/qualification requirements and other data encrypted to the credential (like earned date and expiration date, where appropriate). All of this data is validated by trusted sources using encryption to increase credential security and make your credentials more tamper and fraud resistant. Digital badging is simply a visual representation (or icon) of your achievement but does not carry any embedded means to validate or verify any claim to that achievement.
Primary source organizations will continue to send your documents to TruMerit (by mail or through our Credential Transfer Portal) just as they always do.
Not at this time.
TruMerit digital credentials are stored in a secure, accessible way and under your control. As the issuer of the verified credential, TruMerit retains the ability to suspend or revoke any credential it issues. While no technology is perfectly secure, we believe this technology offers the level fraud resistance necessary to offer this service to our applicants—far more secure than paper-based cards and certificates or PDF files.
No. Using a digital wallet and verified credentials is voluntary. However, we believe the features and value they provide will make this an ideal step for you to take today to support career-long portability and mobility.
