In this article published in Nursing Outlook, Peter Preziosi, President and CEO of TruMerit, and co-author Lianne Jeffs examine why the value of nursing care remains difficult to measure and communicate within healthcare systems. The authors argue that standardized nursing language is essential for making nursing contributions more visible, supporting evidence-informed decision making, improving patient outcomes, and advancing health policy. They also highlight the growing role of big data and artificial intelligence in strengthening nursing visibility and propose four recommendations to advance nursing data, policy, and practice globally.
