CGHW-R

Certified Global Health Worker – Rehabilitation (CGHW-R)

Become a Certified Global Rehabilitation Worker

The CGHW-R certification is for rehabilitation health workers who wish to have their applied knowledge and competencies in their field recognized as meeting a global standard. Those working in rehabilitation, habilitation, or restorative care settings, but who may not have a post-secondary education, can earn the credential by proctored exam offered at more than 1,000 test centers worldwide.

Candidates who meet the eligibility requirements may apply for the program and take the exam. Once a candidate’s application materials have been reviewed and accepted by TruMerit, they will receive an Authorization-to-Test notification that contains instructions for how to schedule an exam.

Be among the first to get certified. Take advantage of special pricing.

TruMerit invites qualified applicants to be part of the initial exam group at a discounted rate. This is offered to offset the unique circumstances associated with a certification exam launch:

  • The initial exam will require test-takers to answer more questions than the final exam, but there will be more time to complete the exam.
  • Exam results will be delayed due to the need for all exams to go through psychometric analysis and performance evaluation.

For those reasons, we’re offering a $75 USD discount for those who take the exam in 2026.

Note: This credential is designed for those who have rehab health experience (such as technicians, assistive personnel, nursing assistants, home or community health aides) but have not completed post-secondary education in an area of rehab specialization. If you are a rehabilitation healthcare professional, such as a physical/occupational therapist or a speech-language-hearing pathologist, you would likely be eligible to earn the Certified Health Worker – Rehabilitation Advanced (CGHW-RA) credential. If you are a rehabilitation nurse, please go to the Certified Global Nurse – Rehabilitation (CGN-R) page.
