Nominate an outstanding nurse recruiter for the TruMerit DAISY Award

Nominations are now open for the 2026 TruMerit DAISY Award for Outstanding International Nurse Recruiter.

The award recognizes extraordinary individuals who are nurses themselves and have made a significant positive impact in the lives of nurse migrants through compassion, empathy, and ethical international recruitment practices.

This award is open to individual nurses who are actively engaged, either directly or indirectly, in international nurse recruitment efforts. This includes nurses who work as recruiters, nurses who work as third-party agents to advise migrating nurses, and nurses employed by recruitment firms in other roles in executive leadership, or as clinical nurse advisors or chief nursing officers (CNOs). Read about our previous honorees.

Nominations can come from individual nurse immigrants, their employers (including hospitals or health systems), or a reputable recruitment firm.  The deadline to submit a nomination is December 19, 2025.

Prepare for career mobility.

No matter where you want to work in the world, validating your skills and training will be critical to your professional opportunities. If you are a first-level, general nurse, the best pace to start is with a global credential that can support your employability and mobility. Our Certified Global Nurse (CGN) credential for general nursing is designed on a competency framework built from 37 international competency frameworks and developed by experts from 70+ countries. Licensure plus global certification can open doors and propel your career.

Know what you need.

Whether you’re looking for work in your country or another country, you’ll need to understand the process for meeting regulatory compliance and professional licensure requirements. You might need additional training or formal education. You may need to brush up on your language proficiency skills. Or you might benefit from additional certifications to demonstrate your clinical competency. We can guide you through the right steps and requirements.

Decide where to work.

The entry-to-practice requirements for nurses and healthcare workers vary greatly from country to country and region to region (or state to state). Make sure you study the credentials verification/evaluation, language proficiency, academic assessment, and employment history requirements that are specific to the country and region/state where you are applying for employment or academic admission.

Stay up to speed.

From graduation through retirement, your career trajectory will be shaped by continuing education and professional development. We can point you to job readiness and career advancement resources that will enable you to stay at the forefront of healthcare delivery and care model evolution.
